OUR MISSION
The St. Louis Police Foundation provides monetary support, services and goods to the St. Louis Metropolitan and St. Louis County Police Departments. The majority of funding requests come directly from police officers in uniform and can be expedited within 24 hours to ensure the highest level of police service to the St. Louis community.
OUR FOUR PILLARS
Critical Support for the Front Lines
Every day police officers put their lives on the line to protect and serve each of us. When Department budgets do not cover the tools officers need to do their jobs, the Police Foundation steps in to bridge the gap. Keeping our officers protected on the front lines makes our entire region safer for residents, businesses and visitors.
Requests Come Directly from the Rank and File
No one has better instincts about police safety than the officers who protect us. That’s why the majority of requests the SLPF funds come directly from the men and women who wear the uniform. A simple process empowers officers, regardless of rank or position, to submit their best ideas.
Quick Response Time to Officer Requests
Crime doesn't wait on bureaucracy, neither should officer safety. SLPF expedites the most crucial requests in as little as 24 hours. Donor dollars are directed where they are needed, when they are needed.
Building a Safer Community, Together
A thriving community requires all of us to do our part. By supporting our police officers, we each play a role in building safe neighborhoods for residents, businesses and visitors.
The Police Foundation is constantly working to ensure we have the tools and resources to do our job to the absolute best of our abilities.
The Foundation’s continuous support not only eases our minds, but also the families waiting at home at the end of our shifts.”
― Police Officer Laura Vinyard, St. Louis County Police Department
OUR STORY
19 Years of Impact
Founded in 2007, the St. Louis Police Foundation has grown from a community idea into one of the region's most trusted law enforcement nonprofits. Since inception, we have raised more than $55 million, funded over 220 programs, and built lasting partnerships between the St. Louis community and the police officers who serve it.
Our funding model is intentionally direct: officers identify a need, submit a request, and we respond — typically within 24 hours for critical needs.
THE DEPARTMENTS WE SERVE
Two Departments. One Mission.
The Foundation proudly serves both the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the St. Louis County Police Department — working alongside both agencies to ensure officers have the resources they need to provide the highest level of police service to our community.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department
Serving the City of St. Louis and its residents, the Metropolitan Police Department is one of the nation's oldest urban law enforcement agencies.
St. Louis County Police Department
Protecting the residents of St. Louis County across dozens of municipalities, the County Police Department serves one of Missouri's most populous regions.
OUR LEADERSHIP
Our Board of Directors brings together prominent leaders from the St. Louis business community — united by a shared commitment to officer safety, community well-being, and ensuring our region is a safe place to live, work, and visit.
